When developing
any hands-on skill or technique, it is important to have
good coaching and guidance. Though academic study forms
the foundation needed to build the necessary skills, theoretical
learning must be coupled with extensive clinical supervision
from experienced practitioners, repetition and personal
feedback to ensure that manual therapy techniques and graded
exercises are properly learned. The faculty at the IOMT,
practicing physical therapists who have experienced a similar
